Paper trail...

Well I managed to leave Bristol twice last week, firstly for a very fleeting visit to London. While there I couldn't resist popping into Liberty's new stationery department. Gorgeous and well worth a visit.

I was very proud to see my creations nestled among other lovely works....

geometry design, leaf motif behind & ginkgo just visible at the back

I also found myself in Birmingham again for a quick meet up. As well as a trip to the fab Ikon gallery I just happened to fall into Selfridges and whilst in the Paperchase concession, look what I found....

I've gone top shelf!

Hot off the press...

Here is a new print edition entitled 'a little ginkgo' that I finished today.

Limited edition of 20, paper size 20 x 28 cm and just £35.

If you think you might like one or know someone who would just click here to visit my shop.

Sunny outlook!

This lovely weather is a late September treat, so we had a few days in Cornwall and Devon beside the sea.

Beautiful autumn colour inspiration to incorporated into my next fabric print.

Take note!

Luckily August wasn't too hot and sunny as I have been indoors beavering away on a order for my hand printed and hand bound notebooks.

Six designs, part of the 'forget me not' notebook range, have now been safely delivered and will be in store soon at Liberty.

I do love a trip to Liberty anyway but I will be making a very special trip in a few weeks time to see them in store.

I will take some pics and keep you posted.

It's on the cards..

I have been working with the lovely people at Artpress recently and they have produced a range of cards with eight of my designs.

They were launched at Top Drawer last weekend and will be hitting the shops any day now.

Here is a little preview of four of them....

Keep your eyes peeled if you are in Paperchase as they will be in store very soon..

'appley married'!

Some friends of mine got married earlier this year. They wanted an original print edition to give as gifts to all the lovely people that helped make their day so special.

The wedding was at Barley Wood Walled Garden, also run by friends, and as the marquee was surrounded by orchards there was an apple theme to the day.

It was a pleasure to get such a lovely commission and I was pretty pleased with my punderful title.
I hope everyone that received one liked it too.

Blog feature...

Recently I met the lovely Rona from Flowerona and answered a few questions for her.
It's a fab blog and a must for anyone with a fondness for all things floral.

Katy prints..

The answer to what Katy prints.. is no longer seemingly nothing!

I have been busy in the studio of late ....

Above is the colour pallet for my leaf motif fabric which has been transformed to notebook covers, more of that to come soon and the new monochrome 'geometry' fabric for making into cushions like this one.

It's nice to work on some more graphic images, (although they are still hand drawn) and I think they work well as a counterbalance with the florals
but never fear there are some new florals too..

The inspiration for this print came while on holiday in France last year, hence the title 'les fleur', it's been stored away in the back of my mind so it's great to finally get it on paper.

The edition is 25 and the paper size is 28 x 38cm and if you want to snap one up they click here.

Oh and here are a few new cards designs to the add to the 'say it with flowers' range

More blog updates and a new online shop on there way very soon.

I just had to post a picture of my beautiful new walnut chopping boards, a hand made birthday gift from my brother, Joe.

They are truly beautiful and are currently sitting on my kitchen table, again made by Joe. His company is called Whitewood carpentry and you can see more of his stunning work at www.whitewoodcarpentry.co.uk

Sunday Antiques Antics

A few Sundays ago now I got up bright and early and headed off to Shepton Mallet to a huge antiques market. I have always wanted to go to one and it didn't disappoint. After a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich to kick things off,  I was ready to attack the hundreds, well seemingly thousands of stalls.

After four hours of spring sunshine, visual overload and some pathetic attempts at haggling , I just came away with a few little treasures...

This lovely selection of buttons, my particularly favorite being the little hand painted hexagonal one at the top. there were so many to choose from, I was probably there for about 20 mins and it was getting embarrassing so I had to make a decision.

I have had my eye on this design for a while so when I discovered this little pot squirreled away at the back of a stall I knew it was coming home with me!
I also got a lovely Ercol rocking chair but it needs a bit of tlc, so when I have sanded and painted it I will do before and after reveal.

Diamond days

Here's a new fabric design hot off the screenprinting press!
I can't resist a repeat pattern and for this one I have gone geometric.

Farewell Winter, Hello Spring!

You are cordially invited to..... Farewell winter, hello spring, The new Snap spring show featuring guest artist Jane Ormes.

Snap will be celebrating in style on Thursday 10th February from 6pm, so head on down to Lower Park Row in Bristol and join us.

Hoping spring is just round the corner, please say it is, we have invited fellow screenprinter ( and my first blog follower!) Jane Ormes to rouse our flagging spirits.

The show will run from the 8th February until 2nd April.

As the event falls just before valentines day it's a great opportunity to pick up a little something special, or the appropriate or inappropriate card for the your chosen someone. In the Valentine spirit we will also be offering pink refreshments, the classic kir royale and the not so classic cider royale, with thanks to The Bristol Cider Shop.

If that's not exciting enough then, wait for it.... you will also get a free tattoo, choose from designs by all the snap artists and one from our guest, but fear not they will only be applied with water and a sponge!

See you there.
